Message from the Principal
Thank you for all your flexibility this week with the crazy Iowa weather. We follow Cedar Rapids Public School for any weather related announcements which I realize can sometimes mean an inconvenience to our families who don't need busing transportation.
I am grateful for your support and understanding during this week's multiple communications to make sure you were all aware of the latest happenings. Here's to warmer and less snowy weather in the week ahead (it is not looking good)!!
Stay safe and warm! -- Mrs. Amy Conlon
Essentials Team Highlight
Honesty looks the same in the essentials rooms as it does throughout St. Matthew School. We know kiddos are still growing and love being able to extend grace to all our students. We ask that students "own" what they have done or not done. If a student isn't following the rules of a game or sport we ask that they admit it. Admitting we are wrong is a huge asset while growing up. If a student has hurt someone's feelings we want them to apologize and tell the other person how they will do better next time.We want them to remember that taking responsibility for mistakes and being honest about what has happened will take you far in life.
--Ms. Carney, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Miller-Smith
