School IS in session tomorrow (Friday)
Just a friendly reminder that we DO have school tomorrow as part of our winter weather make-up plan. Xavier and Regis are NOT in session as a heads up for your family planning. It will be our normal spirit wear Friday!
Stations of the Cross - 5:30 PM TOMORROW (Friday)
We are needing 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students to help with stations of the cross tomorrow evening at 5:30 PM at St. Matthew Catholic Church. This is a great event to join together as a family for 30-60 minutes of prayer and for us to gather as a school community to lead the stations. I realize this is also RoyalT Night; we will be done in time for the start of those festivities!
Students in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th will be coming home with a form for you to complete and return indicating interest. If it works easier, you can also email firstname.lastname@example.org to indicate your child's attendance. We will be rehearsing with students during the day tomorrow to ensure they understand their role in the stations. Let's pack the church!!
I just wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU. I know many of you are trying to manage multiple kids (and schedules), in addition to your own personal and work events, yet, you always find a way to ensure your students education is important! With the numerous no school days and late starts to adding minutes to the day, this winter has been anything but consistent. However, it looks like we may have broke the cycle, we are on a second week in row of a full school week! Thank you for the many sacrifices you make on behalf of your children and St. Matthew Elementary.
Often times this time of year as the days get longer and the weather gets nicer, it is harder to focus and keep students engaged. I have to tell you, that is not the case! Your students have come to school ready to learn and have put forth their best effort in all they do, even for an extra 20 minutes! Kuddos to you and thanks for partnering with us.
I heard that today marks 39 days of school left. I do not know how that is possible as we have so much to do yet, but if anything, that gives you an indication of how fast and how great of a year it has been, time has flown by!
Thank you for being such a great group of parents and for the extra efforts to help make St. Matthew such a special place!
