Rainbow Olympics and Shirts
Rainbow Olympics is a fun-filled morning of fellowship, team building and collaboration! This amazing day is scheduled for May 15th, 2020; however, at St. Matthew School we have already formed our Rainbow Teams and begin our work together as early as next month. We strive to bring the Rainbow Teams together, during the school day, at least once a month to collaborate on a service project for those in our community in need. On those days, students wear their rainbow shirt so we can easily identify teams! We are working on the first date, which will likely be in early October.
What do you need to do now? Get your child's rainbow colored t-shirt. See below for Rainbow Teams and the color-coded team your child(ren) is on. Beginning next week, we will have a variety of rainbow t-shirt colors and sizes on display in the main entrance, please shop this as they are shirt other students have outgrown and donated back. Should you wish to purchase a shirt, you can do so at the link below. Rainbow shirts will be available for purchase, on this site, through September 18th and will be delivered to St. Matthew the week of September 27th; this will be in time for our first event.

As we strive for continual improvement, one of the things that we need to look at is the safety of our students within our building, especially for those students with food allergies. In an effort to help make our cafeteria as safe as it can be, we will be changing our alternate options to a deli sandwich.
For the month of September the alternate option will be ham and cheese. We will communicate the alternate option for October as the menu is shared. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to find ways to make St. Matthew the best and safest environment it can be!
Author Visit Today was Awesome!
We were so excited to be starting off our school year with an author visit from Miranda Paul. Miranda has written 14 fiction and non-fiction picture books that educate and entertain kids about the world we live in. Please take a moment to ask your children about the visit today and what they learned. They asked wonderful questions of her! You can learn more about Miranda and her books on her website:
She even had two new book come out this week! If you happen to order one of her books, she has signed some book plates that students may have. Please let us know if you'd like one.
