Update from the Halverson's
Susie has had some amazing progress this past week thanks to her medical treatments and the power of prayer. Her speech continues to improve each day. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support, kind words of encouragement, and prayers. At this point, we are only asking for you to keep Susie's continued progress in your prayers. We are truly appreciative.
Wishing you a weekend full of blessings with family and friends. I am extremely grateful for all of you and the many blessings you are to the St. Matthew community. I hope you are able to find some rest and relaxation during these next few days. If you are traveling, many prayers for safe travels.
The question of the day that I asked students as they entered this morning was, what is your favorite Thanksgiving food. They were all quick to provide a response so it sounds like there are many great meals ahead.
Many blessings and an abundance of thanks for all you do. I appreciate your partnership in your child's educational journey and look forward to a rewarding Advent season. Please make sure you keep the St. Matthew Advent calendar handy as we use this time to help those in our community who are in need. Please help out as you can.

The Angel of Hope Statue at Xavier is a beautiful symbol of hope for all grieving the loss of a child. This Advent season we are called to pray for everyone seeking hope and light through their days. Please join us on December 6th at 7 p.m. as we pray for hope, light, and grace this Advent season for all those in need. The prayer service will last approximately 30 minutes. This is an outdoor event so dress warm.
Advent and Christmas Activities
St. Matthew Reverse Advent Activity
Please see the attached documents regarding the St. Matthew advent activity that we will be participating in as a school this year. You will find a document that outlines the calendar and how we are being called to serve others, in our case how we are able to help the Metro Catholic Outreach center. Additionally, a prayer for each day of Advent is also included; we will be using these at school but also encourage you to use them at home as well. A copy of each of these documents went home in students take home folders today.
