New St. Matthew Mission and Vision
The St. Matthew Strategic Planning Committee has been working very hard over the last 4 months to begin a process of reviewing the current state and future direction of our educational system. In doing so, many of our conversations have been focused on where we are now, where we are going, and a future goal of how we are going to get there. Below are the new St. Matthew mission and vision statements as a result of this process:
Vision
To grow young people as educators, faithful followers, and as disciples of God.
Mission
We exist to provide a safe and accepting community to develop young people as educators, faithful followers, and as disciples of God. Serving families and students from preschool to fifth grade, our collaborative work environment helps students to be the best they can be. As a legacy school system, we attract students from the Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities. Through faith-based practices students engage in progressive and relevant academic endeavors designed for individual needs. Our dedicated faculty and staff integrate technology for needs today and to be future-ready. The fundamentals of education are installed through a STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, Math) approach infused daily. Through everyday interactions students model discipleship through their faith and relationships with one another in the communities they live. We empower our students to create a lasting legacy by being innovative, morally responsible, and charitable.
As we continue the work of our strategic planning, I am asking for your assistance as we put together the St. Matthew 4 Great Things (4GT's). Please take 1 minute and share with us the great things that you and your family appreciate about St. Matthew Preschool and Elementary. We will use this data to prioritize and create the St. Matthew 4 Great Things and share these in February/March.
Also know that we would love additional members of our committee that meets twice a month during the lunch hour. If this is something that you would be willing to help out with, please contact Mrs. Conlon at
aconlon@stmatthewcr.org. We need you and would love your input!
