A few reminders and updates:

Yellow AM drop off can be dropped off at the main entrance; this is the same as red. Our flow has been steady and manageable which allows us to move these groups to the same entrance and spread out our staff better.
At 8:05AM and after, please make sure you use the main entrance only; staff will not be at the other doors.
If you need to pick up your child during the day, please make sure to send an email to jfreeman@stmatthewcr.org or call 319-362-3021. We will bring your student out to you at the designated time or please call when you arrive and will bring them out and/or pick them up, if they are returning for the day.
Mass begins next week and students will be attending every other week (Kindergarten will attend once a month). I have updated the school calendar to reflect the grades going and the class planning mass. We are hoping to have a live stream for you to watch so stay tuned!

I wanted to take this minute to applaud you and your student(s)! They have done an amazing job adapting to the new environment, protocols, etc. The students have responded to everything that has been asked of them and done so with such a positive attitude. I am so grateful to lead such an amazing group of kids, but let's not forget this stems from amazing parents such as yourself. Thank you for preparing them for our new normal, thank you for having a positive attitude about the return to school, and thank you for your partnership and trust. We have paved a great path and look forward to what the future has in store. Thanks for all you do!

St. Matthew School App

I have been working with a company this summer to create our very own St. Matthew Elementary app. I am introducing the app here, but know that more information is to come. I am hopeful you find this useful for quick access to things like Google Classroom, lunch menus, faculty and staff, calendar items, etc.

When you download, please follow the prompts:

Please tell us about yourself - check all roles that apply to you. Depending on your group, this may prompt you to select grades
Enable notifications - click Yes, please!
SEMS Clubs - while these are currently not in session, if you think your child would participate if offered, select all that apply (this can be updated later)
SMES Extracurriculars - check all that apply (same situation as above with FFL and Jubilation choir). If your child is in Jaguar Xtension, please click this so you can get their updates

You are done with the setup and now have access to the St. Matthew app. At the bottom of the app are some helpful areas:

Home - main page
Calendar - this will have important information about events, including no school days and mass information
Groups - make sure the correct grade levels are included here; you should have a group for each grade level of your students
Notifications - this includes notifications sent to you so you can view them after they have been sent

You can also search for St. Matthew Elementary in the appropriate app store.
